Hello everyone, welcome to today’s skincare video. I will be showing you a basic Korean skincare routine using only COSRX products. A basic skincare routine can transform your skin, it is cleansing, moisturising and sunscreen; when you follow these 3 steps and use good products you have a great foundation. Then everything else you add such as toner, essence and mask work better. Today I will be showing you my soothing morning routine, just 4 steps and all the products are so gentle and non irritating.

Firstly I will use the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser.

Cleanser checklist: Cleans effectively, Clears pores & Low pH

When deciding on a cleanser and if it’s right for you, think about how well it cleans and removes dirt, makeup, sunscreen or any other impurities on skin; as well as if it clears your pores, and has a low pH number. This COSRX cleanser ticks all these boxes and is currently my favourite cleansing product. 

This is a gentle but very effective cleanser formulated to help with pH balancing and works as an anti acne cleanser. It is important to maintain a good skin barrier, an acid mantle that prevents infection and retains moisture. When skin is working on the right pH number it combats harmful bacteria; the types that could grow, triggering inflammation and skin conditions, such as acne. This step will help the skin to look its best as maintaining a good skin barrier will keep skin clear and hydrated for longer.

Next I apply the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to slightly damp skin.

This essence has a slimy texture that cools and melts into the skin effortlessly. I am obsessed with this products and can testify to its transformative abilities.

Snail mucin is a star ingredient, it repairs and hydrates as well as helps with battling acne, fading dark spots and scars. The essence also contains Arginine a skin hydrator, that helps bring water to the skin and binds it so the skin absorbs water, it also builds skin collagen adding elasticity so prevents fine lines and wrinkles. This essence focuses on keeping moisture in the skin, it improves my complexion, and my skin feel extremely soft to touch and looks more plump.

After I use the COSRX Oil Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap

Moisturiser checklist: Lightweight, Not greasy & Long lasting 

This moisturiser is a new favourite and it has put the standard up for what I expect from other products. It is a lightweight watery lotion, and one pumps packs plenty of punch; it easily absorbs into the skin and leaves skin looking dewy without any greasy residue. The product is long lasting, throughout the day I don’t get dry, and it handles the cold weather well.

The moisturiser contains 70% Birch sap, a powerhouse ingredient for calming and treating sensitive, irritated skin. It is known for improving hydration levels in skin while maintaining oil and water balance to prevent excess sebum production and further breakouts.

It also contains Glycerin, a superstar Humectant that helps your skin to cling and hold onto water keeping it moisturised. Glycerin also keeps the skin lipids between skin cells in a healthy state, protecting against irritation and helps to restore barrier. 

Finally I apply the COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream. Complete every morning skincare routine with sunscreen as the last step. Without sunscreen, everything you have done is basically pointless.

Sunscreen checklist: UVA & UVB protection, No white cast, Not Greasy & No Breakouts from it

The COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is a physical and chemical sunscreen, UVA and UVB protection while also moisturising the skin with Aloe leaf extract. UV radiation is present every day of the year. We need to protect our skin daily from the damaging UV rays by making sure sunscreen is apart of every skincare routine. UVB rays cause sunburn, but UVA rays can penetrate the deeper layers of our skin, creating sun damage and ageing. And that is why you need a sunscreen that offers both forms of protection.

I like this sunscreen because it is light weight and does not make my skin feel greasy or give me a white cast after I use it. And the Aloe gives long lasting moisture and hydration to leave skin smooth and refreshed. I am comfortable enough to wear this sunscreen everyday. I haven’t experienced any skin irritation or acne breakouts from this product.

That is the end of the morning routine, I am honestly happy to follow the first 3 steps as my night time routine as well as the products work well whatever time of day; but I also have separate night time routine which I will be uploading soon.
