Hello everyone, welcome to today’s skincare video. I will be showing you a Korean night skincare routine using COSRX. A basic skincare routine can transform your skin and when you use good products you have a great foundation for healthy skin. At night time I follow a 3 step routine using a cleanser, toner, and moisturiser; and when I need to apply my BHA I include that into the steps. After using these COSRX products, when I wake up the next day my skin looks flawless with a radiant glow.

First I start with the COSRX Low pH Gel Cleanser 

Cleanser checklist: Cleans effectively, Clears pores & Low pH

The cleanser is labelled morning gel but I use it at night as well, I think it saves money instead of buying different cleaners for day and night time. This is a gentle but very effective cleanser formulated to help with pH balancing and works as an anti acne cleanser. It is important to maintain a good skin barrier, an acid mantle that prevents infection and retains moisture. When skin is working on the right pH number it combats harmful bacteria; the types that could grow, triggering inflammation and skin conditions, such as acne. This step will help the skin to look its best as maintaining a good skin barrier will keep skin clear and hydrated for longer.

Next I apply the COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid 

I use this twice a week as I have other BHA products. I also prefer to use BHA at nigh to avoid having direct contact with the sun. It’s important  to use sunscreen regularly to protect the skin especially if you do use it in the morning.

The BHA power liquid is formulated with 4% Betain Salicylate, that gently exfoliates removing dead skin cells, blackheads and sebum inside of the pores; it helps prevent and promotes healing of blemishes. The BHA contains Willow Bark Extract that calms redness, irritations and reduces oiliness. There is Niacinamide a cell-communicating ingredient which signals to skin cells to behave better and also increases ceramide synthesis for stronger, healthier skin barrier and better skin hydration. Niacinmaide also helps with brighting and treating dark spots caused by acne and hyperpigmentation. 

After using this power liquid my skin instantly looks and feels smoother, my pores get smaller and I start singing I woke up like this, flawless. I like this product, it does well for acne control because of the Salicylic acid. However, my skin does not get drier compared to when I used Salicylic acid alone. The combination in this formulae is effective in gently exfoliating, but also adds hydration making it a good balance for my skin.

Next I go in with the COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner

Toner checklist: creates the environment that will maximise skincare.

Before I start applying my other products I use this toner to create the environment that will maximise my skincare. This is an ideal product to prepare the skin and using this daily will transform skin from dull to dewy.

This toner is lightweight and absorbs into the skin effortlessly. There is 72% Black bee Propolis extract and 10% Honey extract to make your skin glowy and smooth. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects; helping to treat acne, calm redness and aids in wound healing preventing scabs and scars. The toner is suitable for all skin types and good for sensitive skin; it is hypoallergenic for those worried about allergic reactions, and free from artificial fragrance and alcohol.

After that I use the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 

This is a well loved product, I am always reaching for it and I add this into my basic 3 steps when I want an extra layer of moisture.

Snail mucin is a great ingredient to have in a product it repairs and hydrates the skin. In terms of acne it can help with battling it as well as fading dark spots and scars. It has Arginine as a key ingredient that is a skin hydrator, that helps bring water to the skin and binds it so the skin absorbs water, it also builds skin collagen adding elasticity so prevents fine lines and wrinkles. This essence focuses on keeping moisture in the skin, it improves my complexion, and my skin feels extremely soft to touch and looks more plump.

To finish I apply the COSRX Propolis Honey Overnight Mask

Moisturiser checklist: Lightweight, Not greasy & Long lasting

This is a 3-in-1 gel mask that can be used as an overnight mask, a cream or as a wash off mask. It is lightweight, easily melting into the skin and long lasting keeping skin hydrated all night.

The gel texture is soothing and refreshes skin, after sun exposure this a good option as it can help cool down sunburn. With Propolis extract for anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects; helping to heal stressed skin and reduce redness. It also contains Glycerin, a superstar Humectant that helps your skin to cling and hold onto water keeping it moisturised. Glycerin also keeps the skin lipids between skin cells in a healthy state, protects against irritation and helps to restore barrier

And so that is the end of the night routine, most days it is just cleanser, toner, and moisturiser.

I use the Synergy Toner and Overnight Mask together as the combination of the two propolis products nourishes my skin, giving it a brighter softer supple appearance.
