Hello everyone, welcome to today’s skincare video. Today I am showing you my Affordable Korean Skincare Routine. I shared in my Skincare & Me video that price is an important factor I consider to find skincare products that work. So, I have learnt how to get good quality affordable products by looking at the ingredients list and the skincare concern it treats. An effective skincare routine does not need to consist of many steps. A basic skincare routine can be affordable and still transform your skin. Getting a good cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen will give you a great foundation. Then everything else you add such as toner, essence and mask work better.
I start with the NEOGEN Dermalogy Real Fresh Foam Green Tea
Cleanser checklist: Cleans effectively, Clears pores & Low pH
When deciding on a cleanser and if it’s right for you, think about how well it cleans and removes dirt, makeup, sunscreen or any other impurities on skin; as well as if it clears your pores, and has a low pH number.
This NEOGEN cleanser ticks all the boxes. The hydrating foam lathers to give a deep none stripping clean leaving skin feeling refreshed and moisturised. With a pH 8 on the neutral side, this cleanser does not remove all the oil protection from your skin like harsh soaps. As for pore care it helps to reduce and remove dead skin cells, cleansing the pores to create a softer and smoother skin. It is also hypoallergenic cleaning without irritating the skin so good for people with sensitive skin.
The cleanser has a calming scent and it contains green tea leaves infused into the product floating at the bottom. The tea leaves keep going onto fermenting and releasing a lot of antioxidants, which help skin to stay healthy. Green tea is a nice ingredient for those with oily skin; it decreases the amount of sebum, while increasing the moisture in the skin by controlling the skin’s oil-moisture balance to prevent oily skin and maintain clean, pure, and balanced skin.
Formulated with 100% natural fruit juice ingredients extracted from fresh fruits it delivers a nonirritating cleanse with a moisturising finish. This is a new products in my skincare, and it has quickly become my 2nd favourite K-Beauty cleanser.
Next I apply the Secret Key Fresh Nature Milk Brightening Toner
Toner checklist: Creates the environment that will maximise skincare
This toner was recommended by a subscriber, hey Shirley. So I thought I would give it a try as the ingredients looked good. I’m always willing to hear from y’all and learn about different brands.
The Secret Key Milk toner is alcohol-free specifically designed for sensitive skin to brighten, moisturise and remove dead skin. It has watery texture so it easily absorbs into my skin and there is a floral scent. The toner contains milk protein extracts to gently exfoliate the skin and help restore the skin’s natural oil and moisture balance. Removing dirt and grease from the skin while keeping the skin pH balanced. This is an ideal hydrating product for dry skin because of the 15 plant-based ingredients included for moisturising. The natural milk has protein and AHA, it is effective for skin brightening and rich in vitamins, minerals, and ions that are helpful for enhancing skin immunity. These vitamin and minerals give the skin nutrients for bright and elastic skin so skin is soft, smooth and radiant.
In terms of seeing any brightening affects there has been a slight change, but it might take awhile to see a significant transformations. However, this product is simple and makes my skin feel good and ready to absorb the next steps in my skincare.
After that I go in with the Purito Deep Sea Pure Water Cream
Moisturiser checklist: Lightweight, Not greasy & Long lasting
This Purito cream is formulated with 60% of deep ocean water, effective in replenishing dry and dehydrated skin. The cream has a clear and gel-type texture that glides on easily, feels lightweight and it is long lasting. There is Sodium Hyaluronate (a form of Hyaluronic acid) that is a Natural Moisturizing Factor that helps skin attract and absorb water. Sodium Hyaluronate has the ability to hold 1000 times its own weight in water, and it improves the ability of the skin to retain water. There is also Glycerin, a superstar Humectant that helps your skin to cling and hold onto water keeping it moisturised. Glycerin also keeps the skin lipids between skin cells in a healthy state, protects against irritation and helps to restore barrier.
This cream is Hydrating and moisturising, it adds water to the skin and also forms a barrier over the skin to seal in the hydration by preventing evaporation. And so this is suitable for dehydrated and dry skin. When skin is able to retain water it becomes more healthy, smooth and bouncy. I enjoy using this Purito cream it’s a great options for everyday, morning or night; as it able to provide the right amount of moisture for my skin for an extended period.
Lastly I use the COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
Sunscreen checklist: UVA & UVB protection, No white cast, Not Greasy & No Breakouts from it
The COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is a physical and chemical sunscreen, UVA and UVB protection while also moisturising the skin with aloe leaf extract. UV radiation is present every day of the year. We need to protect our skin daily from the damaging UV rays by making sure sunscreen is apart of every skincare routine. UVB rays cause sunburn, but UVA rays can penetrate the deeper layers of our skin, creating sun damage and ageing. And that is why you need a sunscreen that offers both forms of protection.
While I have been using sunscreen I have seen a noticeable change in my skin tone over the last 2 years, my skin looks healthier and brighter. I like this COSRX sunscreen in particular because it is light weight and does not makes my skin feel greasy or give me a white cast after I use it. And the Aloe gives long lasting moisture and hydration to leave skin smooth and refreshed. I am comfortable enough to wear this sunscreen everyday. I don’t experience any skin irritation or acne breakouts from this product. It does it’s job well and leaves my skin with a glow.
So we have come to the end of the routine. Korean skincare products are great building blocks to maintain a minimal yet effective skincare routine, while also treating my specific skin care concerns. K-beauty to me is innovative and affordable. The products I used today have lovely ingredients that works well for my skin; I’m a huge fan of Aloe, Green Tea, Milk, and Sodium Hyaluronate. They help with my skincare concerns; my sensitivity, dryness, texture and hyperpigmentation are all being treated. Because I am using a variety of good products my skin is healthy and improving a lot. This routines total cost using the YesStyle official prices is £57.67. However, I did not pay that.
