Hello everyone, welcome to today’s skincare video. In this routine I will be showing you Korean skincare products and 1 Japanese skincare product that are worth the hype you hear about them.

You heard right, there is a Japanese product in this video, as I starting to expand in my skincare journey more asian beauty products will be featured over the next coming videos. 

When I am deciding on what skincare product to get I always gravitate towards popular products, it is usually a safe starting point. However, sometimes some products are just overly hyped and are alright. But then sometimes, I try a product and I think wow, this is a game changer. 

I will be showing you a routine full of game changers, products that have elevated my skincare journey. The products I am highlighting are: I’m From Rice Toner, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream, Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel

Cleanser checklist: Cleans effectively, Clears pores & Low pH

I will be double cleansing as it is night time.

The first step is the heimish All Clean Balm, it turns into a silky oil cleanser, that spreads across easily gently removing, dirt, dead skin cells, makeup, sunscreen and more; melting everything away while you massage but still protects the natural lipid layer of the skin (skin’s natural oils).

Formulated with citrus herb oils to naturally brighten and nourish the skin. The balm contains Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter) a magic moisturizer and emollient. It regenerates and soothes the skin, protects it from external factors (such as UV rays or wind) and is also rich in antioxidants. There is also Coconut Fruit Extract (Cocos Nucifera Fruit Extract) loaded with sugars, minerals, amino acids.

The balm contains Shea Butter, It regenerates and soothes the skin, protects it from external factors such as UV rays or wind and is also rich in antioxidants.

I add a little water to turn the balm milky. And move on to the next part of the double cleanse.

I don’t wash off my oil cleanser I apply the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser on top.

I am obsessed with this cleanser and it has made many features on this channel. I can say that the COSRX cleanser is my ride or die, I use it morning and night; and no matter the condition of my skin it works to improve it. 

The COSRX is a gentle but very effective cleanser formulated to help with pH balancing and works as an anti acne cleanser. It is important to maintain a good skin barrier, an acid mantle that prevents infection and retains moisture. When skin is working on the right pH number it combats harmful bacteria; the types that could grow, triggering inflammation and skin conditions, such as acne. This step will help the skin to look its best as maintaining a good skin barrier will keep skin clear and hydrated for longer.

After cleansing I go it with the I’m From Rice Toner

Toner checklist: Creates the environment that will maximise skincare

The skincare community have been saying that this I’m From Rice Toner was worth the hype, and so I had high expectations for this product. This was to be my second product by I’m From, I was already using their Honey mask which I can testify is amazing. However, the thing that kept me hesitant to try more products is the the price point. And so I went with a mini Rice Toner bottle to test it out first, like I had done with the Honey Mask. Opting for a mini version is great for travel and also if you want to experiment before committing to a full size.

The I’m From Rice Toner is made with 77.78% Rice Extract designed to hydrate and brighten dull, irritated skin and is effective in elasticity care. Created with ground Yeoju rice from South Korea, it is a high quality plant-based star ingredient. This toner helps to get rid of impurities located deep in the skin, and exfoliates the complexion eliminating dead skin cells for smoother, hydrated skin. The Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extractis rich in Vitamin E and B, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids; helpful in brightening a dull complexion. This toner contains Adenosine a cell-signalling ingredient that works as an anti-inflammatory and barrier repair/protection agent, It may also help with skin firmness and elasticity. The toner forms a protective barrier over the skin to prevent water loss, effective for dull, fatigued skin, as well as dry, irritated skin.

Immediately after you apply the product the skin becomes smooth as a baby’s, and so I was impressed by how effective it moisturises. The texture is so light and runny but packs a punch, and prepares the skin for the next steps in the routine. After using the I’m From Toner for a week my skin began to transform, I could see in the mirror it was brighter and full with a heathy glow and I haven’t stopped using it since.

The toner is vegan, cruelty free, Ethanol-free, Silicon-free, Steroid-free, Artificial colouring and fragrant free. It is suitable for use for all skin types including sensitive skin. 

Next I apply the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

I also have an addiction to this COSRX Snail Mucin Essence, it is perfect for layering, long lasting and effective in treating skincare concerns.

Snail mucin is a great ingredient to have in a product it repairs and hydrates the skin. In terms of acne it can help with battling it as well as fading dark spots and scars. It has Arginine as a key ingredient that is a skin hydrator, that helps bring water to the skin and binds it so the skin absorbs water, it also builds skin collagen adding elasticity so prevents fine lines and wrinkles. This essence focuses on keeping moisture in the skin, it improves my complexion, and my skin feels extremely soft to touch and looks more plump.

At night the last step is to use the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Moisturiser checklist: Lightweight, Not greasy & Long lasting

Dear, Klairs is a Korean skincare brand that I trusted already; I have been using their Supple Preparation Facial Toner and Rich Moist Soothing Tencel Sheet Mask for over a year and those products are some of my favourites and, I am always reaching for them. Dear, Klairs centres around ingredients and raw materials best suited for sensitive skin. I was keen to expand with more of their products so I knew I had to try the Blue calming cream, the buzz about this product was it’s naturally blue-tinted colour and that it has carefully selected ingredients that soothes and calms irritated skin.

The Midnight Blue Calming Cream is formulated with Guaiazulene a plant-based ingredient extracted from chamomile oil and because it’s naturally dark blue, that is the secret behind the products light blue colour. The star ingredient has powerful calming effects for redness and soothes irritation, which in turn helps heal the skin. The Midnight Blue Cream also contains Centella Asiatica Extract to provide intensive soothing care for the skin and it promotes cell regeneration to help heal irritations and blemishes. Also ideal to calm skin sensitivity caused by sun exposure

The cream is light and soft, it spreads easily across the skin and absorbs well. Some people only apply it to the areas they are feeling sensitive. I think it works well for me on days when I feel like I am breaking out and just want to be refreshed with something simple.

Sunscreen checklist: UVA & UVB protection, No white cast, Not Greasy & No Breakouts from it

In the morning the last step to my routine is always sunscreen. I have been using the

Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel Clear SPF 50+ / PA++++

Everyone say hi to the first Japanese skincare product I have ever used (I think, I might have used a sample of some sort before but at this point I do not recall). Sunscreens have been that product that I have played it safe with the most. I mainly have just been re-buying the MISSHA. However, I am ready to branch out and I though why not also try a skincare product that is not from Korea as K-Beauty is my comfort zone and I’m growing. 

The Canmake Sunscreen is a powerful high SPF broad spectrum sunscreen that has both physical and chemical filters. A chemical hybrid physical sunscreen is getting the best of both worlds when in comes to ingredients; with 5 of the most effective and photostable sun filters Octinoxate, Uvinul A Plus, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide and Tinosorb S.

UV radiation is present every day of the year. We need to protect our skin daily from the damaging UV rays by making sure sunscreen is apart of every skincare routine. UVB rays cause sunburn, but UVA rays can penetrate the deeper layers of our skin, creating sun damage and ageing. And that is why you need a sunscreen that offers both forms of protection.

I have the Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel Clear, there are two other options. The clear version is the ideal one to get if you want to avoid having a white cast. This Mermaid sunscreen has a smooth gel/ watery texture, it is not rough or sticky and it is very light and refreshing adsorbing into the skin well like a lotion. I have not gotten any break outs from the sunscreen and I have been reaching for it regularly because it is so moisturising.

The sunscreen is alcohol-free, fragrance & essential oil-free and is recommended for all skin types and skin tones.
